Been a While

I know it's been a while since my last post but lots of things have been happening. First of all, the kitchen repairs are finished and the den and hallway are painted the same color as the kitchen. What a relief.

Second, I've been working on the synopsis of my new werewolf Victorian. I'm almost finished and I'm having a great time writing it. The story, working title Destiny, takes place in 1885, around London.

Third, I just read Lorraine Heath's recent book, PROMISE ME FOREVER. Couldn't put it down.

Fourth, I'm a member of the new blog, Slip into Something Victorian, for information about everything Victorian. Check it out at www.slipintosomethingvictorian.blogspot.com

And finally, the winner of the American Title II contest has been decided and will be announced during the Romantic Times Convention Awards Luncheon. I plan to be there cheering. Should be a good time for everyone. Many of the American Title II contest finalists will attend. If you're there too, say hey!

It Continues to Amaze

It continues to amaze me that making posts on the internet can be so complicated at times. I'm trying once again. Now, I don't seem to be able to make a new paragraph. What's with that?

Along with taking part in the American Title II contest, I've been busy writing the synopsis for a contemporary story, brainstorming a werewolf idea, revamping my web site and yahoo loop, and dealing with other issues.

The other issues mainly involve the flood of water from the ceiling lights in my kitchen the first week of December. Repairs involve replacing the ice maker tubing, which broke and runs through the ceiling to the outside wall, and repairing the damage to the ceiling and wall to the patio. When it happened I was about to leave for the post office. Thank goodness I heard the plops of water! I couldn't turn off the water. A word to the wise: learn how to turn off the water to your house. Thanks to some nice firemen, the water was turned off along with the electricity and the computer was protected from the flood. Holidays and company required putting off the repairs until now. I know it will all be taken care of, it just takes time. Meanwhile, we'll be moving the computer out of the way.

I've never tried to write before with repairmen rebuilding my kitchen and breakfast area. This is a first for me. ;-) Wish me luck!

Let the fun begin

The start of the American Title II Contest has arrived! Voting has begun! I've survived the first day of voting with many wonderful messages of good luck and cheer from great friends. This is the best part of the contest. Preparing for the contest was hard work and now it's time to have some fun.

I set up a yahoo loop which can be accessed from my web page at www.jeanmariehamilton.com and I'll be announcing contest reminders and updates and having drawings for some goodies if you'd like to join. We'll be having the first drawing soon.

Next on my list, I'll be posting an excerpt here from Seduction, my contest entry. I also have an excerpt on my web page. Hope you'll come back and check it out. Until then, don't forget to Vote for SEDUCTION at www.Americantitle2.com and join my loop.

Amazes me

Oct. 27 and a little over 2 weeks until the voting begins. I'm amazed by all that goes into being a finalist in the American Title II Contest. Voting for the first round starts November 14. Just around the corner. I still have so much I want to do before then!

I've created my web site and blog, which I didn't possess before this contest. I'm learning tons but it feels like a crash course ( according to my dictionary a "concerted effort and effected in the shortest possible time" -- exactly.

At the same time, I wouldn't trade it. I'm having fun with friends who are giving me amazing support. Preparing for the contest finals creates time-consuming, hard work. Worth every minute for the generosity of friends. Meanwhile, when I catch a spare moment, I'm having a great time thinking of goodies for "thank you's".

I need to get back to work. On my website "Books" page, I'll be adding an excerpt from my contest entry, SEDUCTION. Check it out. ;-)
